Justice Formation

Our Mission: The Mission of The Institute for Justice Formation (IJF) is to establish enduring, robust relationships between

religious and cultural institutions through a holistic program of Worship, Education, and Advocacy.

Our Purpose: IJF exists:

  • To investigate and promote the transformational character of Biblical Justice for leaders and communities, and
  • To advocate for leaders and laypersons to do what is right and just intrinsically.

Our Vision: The Vision of IJF is to embody truth as well as serve as a catalyst for Biblical Justice in our world.

Don’t just watch news on women in ministry and the patriarchal systems that prohibit their presence. Take a moment to learn how to take action from Rev. Ruth Everhart as she discusses some of the intersections of Biblical Justice and Human Rights that specifically effect women. She was one of our speakers at our conference last week.
How can your community be a more just place for all women?

"We as a nation proclaim to have rules of engagement- but our laws are not and have not been equally applied…
We create ridiculous rhetoric, mystical stereotypes, and revisionist history to justify discriminatory behavior toward select people groups which makes our unjust treatments even more egregious as it emboldens others to perpetuate and to perpetrate even more discriminatory beliefs and behaviors into our interrelated systems of existence."
-Dr. Barbara Fears taught us about Culturally Relevant Pedagogy and how we can mirror the way Christ taught.

“We can become entrenched in our personal preferences instead of focused on the
weightier issues of faithfulness, mercy, and justice…
"I’ve seen the confusion of good morality and assuming that would satisfy God’s heart of reconciliation and justice.”

-President Ken Pruitt of The John Leland Center for Theological Studies in talking about the role of Christian Education in God's work of justice.

A question many have: “Isn’t ‘justice’ just a radical political agenda being placed on the biblical text?”
